I'm kind of a sucker for unique paranormal stories, and you don't get much more unique than Bigfoot! I'd never read anything by this author before but the blurb was enough to entice me to take a chance. I'm actually glad I did. The story revolves around Sparrow, who is the headliner at a drag club. Congo, is a Wetiko, or Bigfoot, that comes to the club in his human form and realizes that Sparrow is his mate. After saving Sparrow from a crazy fan, Congo takes Sparrow to his realm where things just get going. There's a lot to take in with this story. Bigfoot, which are actually a type of shifter, different realms for different paranormals, hippie parents that know more than they should, a best friend that's more than he seems, diva drag queens, a crazy stalker, and, oh, Uncle Warren, who turns out to be one of the Four Horsemen - War.There were a few times that the story got a little overwhelming, trying to keep up with all the characters and world building. A few instances where some editing should have caught mistakes but all in all it's a very intriguing storyline. I was completely engrossed and enjoyed it. It could have been a little longer because I felt like parts, and the ending, were rushed a bit and drawing it out would have added more depth. It ends on a HFN. Sparrow and Congo are just settling into their mating but there are a few threads left untied. Coco, Sparrow's best friend and adoptive brother, is left in the middle of a huge revelation and there's also the matter of Sparrow's parents. It has a little heat but the primary focus is on the relationship and paranormal aspects. I'm really curious about what happens next and will continue to read more despite the few flaws. Hopefully the author improves with time because I really feel like they have something here. I'm really glad I took the chance on this book!
